Are we bonded and insured?
| This is probably the most misunderstood assumption the moving public makes. It is such an important issue that we have devoted a special page entitled "Transit Protection", to it. We strongly recommend you read it carefully. We are happy to help you understand it, all you have to do is ask. The rules for all licensed movers are the same. The difference is the amount of information a mover is willing to share with their clients. |
Is Bekins liable for owner packed possessions?
| Liability - Bekins does not assume liability for damage to owner-packed items unless there is visible external damage to the carton that might possibly indicate mishandling, and then only to the declared value of the carton. |
Can we handle a big job?
| Of course we can. While we specialize in moving families one at a time, we also handle commercial projects of great magnitude. Examples of this would be large hotel installation projects, such as the Westin Bayshore, Pan Pacific, Waterfront Center, Chateau Whistler and the Wall Center Garden Hotel. We also handle large retail furniture delivery contracts such as Stacy’s Furniture and Appliances and the BC Hydro Refrigerator Recovery Program. |
Can we safely pack and transport your valuable posessions?
| Of course we can. Over the years, Bekins has enjoyed working for many of the local museums and galleries. In fact we are the mover of choice to most. We have completed projects for all of the following: Vancouver Museum, Canadian Craft Museum, Maritime Museum, Richmond Museum and White Rock Museum. |
Can we transport and store your delicate items?
| Of course we can. Bekins has several trucks equipped with "air ride", as opposed to spring suspension. What this means to you is this special suspension allows the shipment to "float" on air, and be subjected to a minimum of road vibration. Most shipments of Household Goods don't require this service for local moving, but some of our clients often specify it as a requirement to move their delicate instruments; The Vancouver Hospital, Richmond General Hospital and Louis Brier Home and Hospital to name a few. |
